for the last two years, [me] & goji has partnered with American Forests on Earth Day for our 1- cereal 1-tree campaign. it has been a great success. we have received tremendous feedback from you so we thought we would give you a brief update on the specific project that the [me] & goji fam (that’s you!) has aided: American Forests’ Wildfire ReLeaf program. Thank you to everyone who supported the campaign this year!

From the American Forests website: AMERICAN FORESTS’ Wildfire ReLeaf program is a large-scale tree planting initiative started in 1999 to plant millions of trees in areas scorched by catastrophic wildfires. The dramatic wildfires in southern California in the fall of 2007 have created tremendous additional need for reforestation. With the increase in size and intensity of wildfires comes a more urgent need to rehabilitate damaged areas to prevent further degradation of forest ecosystems.

Drought conditions in many states, including California, and the effects of decades of fire suppression have given rise to hundreds of fires in the United States. AMERICAN FORESTS designated a fund specifically to restore California forests after receiving an outpouring of questions and requests from California residents and people across the United States.

AMERICAN FORESTS has set a goal of planting a million trees in the state.

What do celebrities, sitcoms and cereal have in common? All three were amply represented at The 67th Annual Golden Globe Awards this week in LA. [me] & goji was invited to the notorious Nathalie Dubois DPA Golden Globe gifting suite as a featured product where 300 of the industry’s biggest names crunched and munched on custom creations.

this year, everyone took something home for their mantel

The DPA gifting lounge offered celebrities, nominees, and presenters the newest and hottest products from Marchon couture gowns to [me] & goji couture cereal.

For the event, we designed five custom mixes highlighting “Trailblazing Moments” in film and television. Red carpet recipes included: The Gojifather (honoring The Godfather), Boys Don’t Rye (honoring Hillary Swank’s role in Boys Don’t Cry), Guess Who’s Coming to Breakfast? (honoring Sidney Poitier), and Berry Funny (honoring cereal connoisseur, Seinfeld).

Which is your favorite?

[me] & goji presents…

VH1-Hip-Hop-Honors [me] & gojiwhen VH1 reached out to us about creating a special mix for the 2009 VH1 Hip Hop Honors show, we just couldn’t resist the creative possibilities. besides, this year the show is honoring Def Jam, the company that Adam worked for before [me] & goji. Finally, the event is held to raise money for the VH1 Save the Music foundation so everybody wins!

This is the label we designed for the event that went on top of the Cereal Capsules. It is in the style of the records Def Jam sends out to DJs when a new song comes out.

The VH1 Save The Music Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to restoring instrumental music education in American public schools, and raising awareness about the importance of music as part of each child’s complete education.

2009 VH1 Hip Hop Honors airs Tuesday, Oct 13.

make a mix, plant a tree

make a mix, plant a tree

1 cereal = 1 tree

in celebration of earth day, [me] & goji will make a donation to American Forests to have one tree planted for each Cereal Capsule ordered on Wednesday, April, 22.

American Forests is a world leader in planting trees for environmental restoration, a pioneer in the science and practice of urban forestry, and a primary communicator of the benefits of trees and forests.

the [me] & goji forest

if you order 1 mix, we’ll plant 1 tree. if you order 4 mixes, we’ll plant 4 trees. get your whole office to order, and we’ll plant a forest!

plant more trees: forward this along to your friends and family!

a couple weeks ago, we posted about the event we sponsored for Farm Sanctuary.

the event was a blast!  we met lots of cool people like Chloe Jo from GirlieGirl Army, John from Boston Baked Bonz (vegan doggie treats!), Cory Feldman, Jennifer Coolidge, and Marcia from Blackwell’s Organic Gelato.

the event was a huge success and raised lots of money toward taking care of hundreds of animals that were rescued from natural disasters around the country.

for us, it was a great opportunity to talk up [me] & goji to lots of like-minded people (and enjoy some wintry cocktails).  we were pleasantly surprised to discover how many people had already heard of us and ordered before!
